The Performing Pixies is a branch of The Drama Dragons program that allows homeschooled children from the ages of 5 – 10 to experience acting, puppetry, and much more! The first class will be held on March 3rd from 11:00am – 12:30pm at Faith Presbyterian Church, 620 South Shirley St. Tacoma, WA 98465. If you’re interesting in allowing your child(ren) to build their creativity and have fun learning, come play with us!
For a more detailed description of the Performing Pixies program, see Pixie Performers on The Drama Dragons website.
Now that we are in the New Year, the Drama Dragons have begun reading scripts. We hope to have chosen one to perform by the end of the month. So far, we have read an original script, Out in the Woods, which will be performed at Summer Dragons, and The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. The class had quite a fun time attempting to speak in Southern accents.
Over the past couple of weeks, the Centaurs have been working on play selection. We decided that we would produce a Cinderella story, but we weren’t sure which version we wanted to do, as the “Cinderella Story” exists in many different cultures. We spent some time learning about the history of Cinderella, finding out that the earliest Cinderella story dates back as far as ancient Egypt! We’ve read several scripts now and soon we will decide which one we will use. Here’s a couple pictures of us reading scripts:
The Summer Dragons dates have been set! The camp will last from July 8-16, 2017, at Thousand Trails in Chehalis. We will be performing Out in the Woods, an original script written by Hally Phillips.
